Basic Sauces, Basic Flavors’ predecessor, started off as a business
venture class project in the Asian Institute
of Management (AIM).
The project’s main purpose was to manufacture and market a particular
product, the “Crunchy Bawang” (“bawang”,
translated into English is garlic). Given the brand name Earth
Flavors, Crunchy Bawang was conceptualized, studied and manufactured.
Initially marketed in selected outlets in Metro Manila, Crunchy Bawang
was a big hit! In no time at all, it exceeded projected demand. The project
itself was one of the top business ventures in its batch in AIM. Due to
its potential, the main principals decided to go full time with the company.
In 1997, Basic Sauces, Inc. was born.
With a vision of manufacturing and marketing new innovative food products,
BSI started with 5 small delis. It now has 80 retail outlets in Metro
Manila, parts of Luzon and Visayas, including all major supermarkets and
groceries.

From the lone Crunchy Bawang, the Earth Flavors line of products now has
the Crunchy Bawang, Garlic
Chips, Crispy Onions, Chili
Garlic in Oil, Chili Garlic Sauce,
Fresh Chopped Garlic in Water, Fresh
Chopped Garlic in Vegetable Oil.
In 2000, Basic Sauces entered into a joint venture agreement with the
JAD Group of Companies and the company,
now known as Basic Flavors, Inc. was
formed. With a stronger marketing plan and an inspired
production department, Basic Flavors, Inc. has been able to service the
needs of institutional and corporate clients. Basic Flavors has also started
exporting to the Middle East.Basic Flavors has also added a new product
line called “Ocean Flavors”
which has Dulong in Oil out in the market. |
